Terms and Conditions

Scope

These terms and conditions govern the use of the following websites (the “websites”):

The International Organization for Migration (“IOM”) provides all materials (the “materials”) published on its websites including but not limited to texts, documents, logos, designs, visual materials, photographs and videos for informational purposes only.

IOM reserves the exclusive right, at its sole discretion, to alter, limit or discontinue its websites without notice, and shall have no obligation to take the needs of any user into consideration in connection therewith.

IOM reserves the right to deny, at its sole discretion, any user access to its websites or any portion thereof without notice.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights relating to the materials shall remain vested in IOM, unless otherwise stated.

IOM reserves the right to assert ownership of information collected on the websites.

All materials are copyright of the International Organization for Migration, unless otherwise stated.  The materials may be viewed, downloaded, and printed for personal, non-commercial use only, without any right to sell, resell, redistribute or create derivative works therefrom.

With the notable exception of media information, any other use including extraction, translation, reproduction, and distribution, in any form, or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, or otherwise, require the explicit prior written permission of IOM.

Permission to use materials which are not owned by IOM, must be requested from the copyright owner.

Media Information

Press Releases and Press Briefing Notes may be reproduced freely without the right to sell or charge for its use, provided IOM is specifically and clearly identified as the source of the materials.

Videos may be shown, reproduced and/or broadcasted freely without the right to sell or charge for its use, unless otherwise stated. For non-IOM copyright video materials in broadcast quality, please refer to shot lists for information on access and restrictions.

Linking to the IOM Website

Other websites may link to IOM websites without seeking the permission of IOM. However, such links must clearly identify IOM as the source of the information displayed and preserve the integrity of the IOM web pages without alteration.

Privacy Policy

Anonymous Browsing

Users can browse the websites without revealing any personal information.

Monitoring Website Traffic

IOM monitors general trends in the use of its websites.

IOM uses the information to generate statistics and measure the websites’ activity in order to improve the usefulness of the websites. This information is never connected with any personal information you supply to IOM if you register for one of IOM’s services, online orders or make a credit card payment.

Cookies

Monitoring website traffic includes the use of cookies, small bits of code stored on your computer’s hard drive. When you visit the websites, some information, such as the site that referred you to IOM, your IP address, browser and the type of machine you are using, as well as navigational information such as the files you download, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits are collected.

IOM does not sell, distribute or rent personal information collected on its websites.

If you are purchasing goods or services on the websites, you may be asked to provide your credit card details. These details are transferred to a secure online payment service provider, hosted outside IOM. IOM does not retain credit card information.
