In the framework of the project “Developing National Capacity to Counteract Domestic Violence in the Republic of Belarus” IOM Mission in the Republic of Belarus will carry out seminars “Domestic Violence as the Cause of Trafficking in Human Beings (THB)”.
On 25 February – 1 March 2013 the MoI of the Republic of Belarus and IOM Minsk are holding training for LE practitioners of Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova at the International Training Center for Migration and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings.
The Rehabilitation Centre for the victims of trafficking started its operation in 2006 and since that time IOM Minsk has assisted to more than 425 victims of trafficking. During the period 2006-2012 RC IOM Minsk rendered direct assistance to 251 women, 23 men and 151 children.
On 18-22 February 2013 the border guards of Belarus and Ukraine participated in a joint study visit on migration management to Italy held within the framework of EU-IOM project “SURCAP”, aimed at strengthening the surveillance capacity of the Belarus-Ukraine common border.
