Coordination Meeting on Project of International Technical Assistance "Strengthening national capacity of Republic of Belarus for combating human trafficking"On February, 12th, 2014 IOM Minsk conducted Coordination Meeting on Project of International Technical Assistance “Strengthening national capacity of Republic of Belarus for combating human trafficking”. This event was dedicated to the launching of the new technical assistance project. The meeting was organized under support of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Coordination Meetings proved to be a useful platform for dialogue between state, non-state and international organizations working in the CT field in Belarus. This platform provides a possibility for all СT stakeholders to share latest information and statistics, discuss new trends and developments, including legislative ones. Representatives of the Ministry of Interior responsible for cooperation with IOM, IOM, NGOs and GOs representatives came together for joint strategic planning and coordination of counter-trafficking activities in Belarus. The profile of participants was expanded and representatives of local authorities participated as well.

Being the first one in the starting project this event aimed at setting of new goals, sharing ideas for future cooperation and implementation of project activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations involved in combating human trafficking and taking into consideration the national interests.
