Belarus Takes Part in the EaP Conference on Integrated Border Management in Brussels

Kick-off Conference Infosheet_4 Nov 2014On 4 November the representatives of the State Customs Committee and the State Border Committee of Belarus took part in the kick-off conference of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) capacity building project on Integrated Border Management (IBM), that brought together senior officials from the border guard and customs services of the six Eastern Partnership countries, representatives of EU institutions and international organizations including the World Customs Organization (WCO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).

The kick-off conference provided an opportunity to inform the delegates of the issues that will be covered under the project and further project activities envisaged. The project will contribute to increased border security, legitimate goods movement facilitation and international cooperation. During the three year project, Frontex will involve highly competent experts in these fields from the EU Member States and partner organizations which will ensure successful fulfillment of projects goals.
