Students of Belarussian Pedagogical University Visit IOM Minsk

Students of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University, School of Socio-pedagogical Technologies, participated in the meeting on assistance provided by IOM to vulnerable migrants in the Republic of Belarus.

During the event students got acquainted with areas of IOM’s activities, projects being currently implemented in Belarus and activities carried out under these projects.

The IOM’s activities in the counter-trafficking area were of the greatest interest for future social workers. During the discussion participants were informed about the types of exploitation, current tendencies, comprehensive assistance that victims of human trafficking may receive, as well as about information campaigns carried out by IOM within the framework of the preventive component. IOM specialists also informed participants on key achievements of the Organization in the counter-trafficking area, cooperation with governmental, non-governmental and international organization, identification and referral mechanisms.

The event was organized within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Strengthening National Capacity of Republic of Belarus in Sphere of Combating Trafficking in Human Beings” with the support of USAID.
