Brest Hosts Seminar on Reintegration Assistance with Gender-based Approach
On 01 – 02 July 2015 IOM Minsk in cooperation with project partners conducted the seminar “Improvement of the Quality of the Social Assistance to the Victims of Trafficking Based of Gender-Equality Approach and Experienced Trauma” in Brest.
The event brought together 25 representatives of the Regional multidisciplinary group (MDG), responsible for identification, referral and assistance to the victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants.
The purpose of the seminar was to enhance the knowledge of the representatives of the MDG in the sphere of gender equality and violence, to improve the skills to identify and provide respective and appropriate assistance based on the gender equality and the experienced trauma; to introduce the Instructions on identification and referral of the target group to the relevant organizations and the documents/annexes which have to be filled in the process.
The objectives of the seminar were met and the participants acquired practical knowledge on criteria of identification of victims of THB, including minors, according to national legislation and international standards; types of assistance based on gender equality and experienced trauma and confidentiality principles.
The seminar was organized in the framework of the project “Strengthening of the National Capacity of the Republic of Belarus in the Sphere of Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (THB)” and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
