Migration, health and development: the Chief of Mission of IOM Belarus met with the Deputy Minister of Health
The Chief of Mission of IOM Belarus, Ms. Mahym Orazmuhammedova, met with the Deputy Minister of Health – Chief State Sanitarian of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Alexander Tarasenka.

Ms. Orazmuhammedova introduced main activities of IOM Belarus in the field of migration and health to the Deputy Minister of Health and highlighted the importance and interrelationship of those two phenomena.
There were discussed possible areas of cooperation between IOM Belarus and the Ministry of Health in such important spheres as health, migration, and development at the meeting. Ms. Orazmuhammedova noted that the collaboration of IOM Belarus and the Ministry of Health will contribute to improvement of the health care system efficiency and a more comprehensive approach to addressing issues related to migrants’ health. The implementation of a joint project might become one of the possible ways for further cooperation. In addition, at the meeting, such important topics as the sanitary and epidemic well-being of citizens and the availability of vaccination for the most vulnerable segments of the population, represented by migrants, were raised.
As a result of the meeting, IOM Belarus and the Ministry of Health agreed on further cooperation in areas relevant and important for both parties.
